I was elected as the the Mayor of Kendal on May 17th 2018. My theme for my Mayoral year is Diversity.
Diversity is any dimension that can be used to differentiate groups and people from one another.
It’s about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of age, gender,
ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education and national origin.
The first ever Kendal Unity Festival is a great way to celebrate diversity and get everyone in Kendal living and working together
for the betterment of Kendal.
It is great that this event has been supported by all three tiers of Council and a wide variety of organisations and groups within Kendal and we have a strong commitment to make this an annual event.
