CARLISLE UNITY FESTIVAL

Cumbria Unity Festival in Carlisle celebrates the strengths and diversity of the people of Cumbria by building community cohesion, advancing equality and social integration. Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery is the new home for Carlisle Unity Festival on Saturday July 16th, alongside the Town Hall Assembly Room and Carlisle Cathedral. All these city venues are hosting us for our first in-person event since 2019.

Come along and celebrate our communities, discover the stories that make up Carlisle’s rich and varied heritage, learn what organisations are doing in your local area, and find out what activities or opportunities are available to support and inspire you locally. There will be live music, a time-traveller tour, spoken word open mic, participative discussions, creative workshops, an art & architecture tour, the chance to explore special exhibitions and the Tullie House collection - and much more!

We're thrilled that we're starting off the Festival in Carlisle by receiving a visit from the Queen’s Baton Relay on the day on its way to the Commonwealth Games after visiting 72 countries. Come along to Tullie House for 09:30 to see the fun alongside the Border City Roller Derby, the Dabke Dancers and Ukes Akimbo!
