Sustainable Carlisle Conversation Cafe - 12pm

WSP1

Sustainable Carlisle are delighted to be part of the Cumbria Unity Festival happening this Saturday!

We will be running our monthly Conversation Cafe but with an exciting addition for the festival, as we will be hosting a guest presentation from Victoria Wood, a local architect with a passion for sustainability.

Victoria is part of a CAfS project where 20 volunteers have been trained to run a widespread programme of events on climate science and solutions across Cumbria. The events are aimed at facilitating discussions that hope to better people’s understanding of the causes of, and solutions to, the climate crisis. This project has been funded by the Emergence Foundations.

After the presentation we will have a 15 minute break before gathering together again (over the same zoom link) to have an open and informal discussion about what we have just heard.

All are welcome to come along, new and familiar faces alike. If you have any questions please do contact katie@sustainablecarlisle.org

poster

Dance Carousel from Home will run a ladies only, online dance session at 3.00pm.

This is an adaptation of the successful Multicultural Cumbria Dance Carousel project which brought international women together in person in Carlisle before the Lockdown to learn dances from around the world and meet new friends along the way.
The "at Home" sessions which started in September 2020 have enabled women of all backgrounds and from all over Cumbria to take part, picking up their dance classes again, albeit in a slightly different format, so they can stay fit, healthy and connected, whilst having fun! A very successful session was held for members of the new Cumbria International Women’s Network as part of the online International Women’s Day event on 8th March.
